WATERBURY –Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital and Waterbury Hospital have partnered to provide high quality care for newborn babies in Greater Waterbury and Western Connecticut by offering around-the-clock medical coverage at Waterbury Hospital’s Special Care Nursery.

Waterbury Hospital Special Care Nursery is a Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) staffed by Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital (YNHCH) neonatologists, specially trained NICU nurses and lactation counselors to support any newborn requiring intensive care including premature babies starting at 28-weeks gestation.
