A fitting way to celebrate May

Employees are invited to visit the Cingari Family Boutique at the York Street Campus for a free, custom bra fitting with a certified bra fitter during the employee-only event, noon - 6 pm Thursday, May 3. The boutique offers high-quality undergarments in various colors and sizes, including compression knee-highs/stockings. All shoppers will receive 20 percent off storewide and a free raffle ticket with purchase during this event. Cash, employee payroll deduction and all credit cards are accepted. Utility clinic May 4

YNHH is hosting a “Keep the Power On” utility clinic, 9 am - 1 pm Friday, May 4, East Pavilion Cafeteria special events area, York Street Campus. The clinic, open to YNHH patients and staff, is designed to help families who may have trouble paying their utility bills avoid having utilities turned off. Representatives at the clinic will educate and enroll eligible individuals in special utility programs and provide budget counseling. There will be specially designated time for employees from 12:30 - 1:30 pm. Managers are encouraged to permit staff to attend. Head and neck cancer screening May 11

Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center will hold free, five-minute screenings for oral, head and neck cancer: 3 - 6:30 pm Friday, May 11, East Pavilion Cafeteria special events area, York Street Campus. Former surgeon general to headline Safety, Quality and Experience Conference

Vivek Murthy, MD, Surgeon General of the United States from 2014-2017, will be keynote speaker at the Yale New Haven Health System Safety, Quality and Experience Conference, May 31, 7:30 am - 3 pm, Oakdale Theatre, Wallingford. As “America’s doctor,” Dr. Murthy created initiatives to tackle the country’s most urgent public health issues, including drug and alcohol addiction, the opioid crisis, e-cigarette use among youth and vaccinations. YNHH named a top 10 company for executive women

For the eighth time, the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) has named Yale New Haven Hospital to its 2018 list of top 10 non-profit companies for executive women. The list recognizes organizations whose policies and practices encourage women’s advancement and whose numbers at the highest levels of leadership demonstrate that commitment. YNHH, ranked number six, has been recognized as an employer of choice nationwide, offering benefits and programs to help all employees meet work-life demands. YNHH recognized for LGBTQ efforts

YNHH has been recognized by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC) in the 11th edition of its annual Healthcare Equality Index (HEI), which scores healthcare facilities on policies and practices dedicated to the equitable treatment and inclusion of their LGBTQ patients, visitors and employees. HEI participants are assessed on four criteria: LGBTQ patient-centered care, patient services and support, employee benefits and policies, and patient and community engagement.
