Breastfeeding moms receive support and advice from lactation experts who are available to answer questions, listen to concerns, and provide instruction in breastfeeding techniques.
Greenwich Hospital’s lactation consultants are registered nurses who are board certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners. The IBLCE is recognized worldwide for its rigorous training standards in this important healthcare specialty.
Breastfeeding is also promoted through the hospital’s prenatal classes and parenting support groups.

Support continues for breastfeeding mothers with a postpartum visit after mother and baby are discharged from the hospital. Certified lactation nurses are available to answer questions, address concerns and show them “how to” techniques.
