Quick tips – workplace violence

  • Be situationally aware. When you enter a room, know where you are and what surrounds you.
  • Observe your patient’s head, hands and feet at all times.
  • Be self-aware. You can’t control a patient’s behavior, but you can take steps to protect yourself. People communicate with words, tone and volume and body language.
  • Learn more about workplace violence on the THRIVE section of the intranet (network only).
