ITS relaunches as Digital and Technology Solutions

Information Technology Services leads giving talk

On Aug. 1, Information Technology Services relaunched as Digital and Technology Solutions with a retreat that included department leaders and those from Yale New Haven Health and Yale Medicine.

Yale New Haven Health’s Information Technology Services recently relaunched with a new name that reflects the department’s expanded focus: Digital and Technology Solutions (DTS).

With a new vision, “Powering Exceptional Experiences,” DTS will strengthen and bring forward new solutions that support the aligned enterprise between YNHHS and Yale Medicine.

DTS leaders and those from Yale New Haven Health and Yale Medicine attended an Aug. 1 retreat to outline new priorities for the department. Pamela Sutton-Wallace, YNHHS chief operating officer, and Margaret McGovern, MD, PhD, deputy dean and CEO, Yale School of Medicine, were among the speakers.

The renaming and reimagining of the department is one step in a transformation that focuses on four experience-led “pillars.” Goals in these pillars include:

  • Patient Experience - improve access to care by delivering care to patients when and where they need it through a combination of traditional and innovative delivery models
  • Researcher and Analyst Experience - improve access to research data
  • Care Team Experience - improve ease of care delivery and reduce cognitive burden
  • Employee Experience- enable seamless access to resources and communication tools

Much of the work in these areas aligns with YNHHS’ Strengthening Our CORE initiative, which aims to improve operational efficiencies, foster innovation and improve quality and safety for patients and employees. Watch for future communications about DTS initiatives and advancements.
