Unique boutique offers cuddly couture – and more

From beanies to booties to bibs – A Mother’s Place Boutique at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital has everything you need to land a little one on the best-dressed baby list.

A Mother’s Place was originally established to provide childbirth education and breastfeeding services. In its original location, on George Street, the program also offered breastfeeding and other supplies.

Ten years ago, A Mother’s Place moved into the Children’s Hospital. It is now located on WP 8, adjacent to the Maternity and Newborn unit and Lactation Services. The boutique still offers breastfeeding supplies, including nursing bras and personalized bra-fittings, along with hospital-grade breast pumps and baby weigh scales for rent. The store is equipped to loan breast pumps to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to help birth parents who are exclusively pumping.

The boutique also offers a variety of baby clothes, toys and gift baskets that can be delivered right to new parents in their hospital rooms.

“Our mom and baby boutique offers convenient shopping among not only visitors, but for employees as well.” said Cecilia Keyes, A Mother’s Place coordinator. “It’s also a helpful resource for new parents. I find it very rewarding to be able to help them.”

Hospital employees receive a 10 percent discount at A Mother’s Place. Call 203-688-9355 or email [email protected] for information about the boutique and services.
