Greenwich, CT (Aug. 12, 2025) – Greenwich Hospital has received accreditation from The Joint Commission under the Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Behavioral Health Care and Human Services for its Adult and Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). This prestigious recognition affirms the hospital’s commitment to providing safe, high-quality and patient-centered behavioral healthcare services.
“This recognition from The Joint Commission is a testament to the dedication of Dr. Gregory Berlin, Dr. Jessica Dodge and our entire behavioral health team’s unwavering commitment to meeting the highest standards of care,” said Bob Blenderman, PA, president, Greenwich Hospital. “We are proud to provide vital mental health services that truly make a difference in the lives of our community members.”
The three-year accreditation follows a comprehensive review and a 60-day Evidence of Standards Compliance process, culminating in a full survey conducted by The Joint Commission – the nation’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. This rigorous evaluation ensures that all behavioral health programs meet or exceed national standards in areas such as patient care, treatment planning, risk management and clinical quality.
“This accreditation reinforces the strength and structure of our adult and adolescent programs,” said Gregory Berlin, MD, program director, Behavioral Health at Greenwich Hospital. “It highlights our ability to provide safe, evidence-based and compassionate care for people of all ages navigating mental health challenges.”
With this distinction, Greenwich Hospital joins an elite group of behavioral health programs recognized for excellence in care delivery.
Greenwich Hospital’s IOPs offer comprehensive mental health treatment for adolescents and adults who require structured, short-term support while continuing to live at home. The programs focus on individualized care, family involvement and coordination with schools and primary care providers to ensure lasting impact.
