Greenwich Hospital named one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience

Tuesday, May 9, 2017

Greenwich, Conn. (May 9, 2017) – Greenwich Hospital has received the 2017 Women’s Choice Award as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience for the fourth year in a row.

“This award recognizes our commitment to patient and family-centered care, satisfaction and safety. All of our employees are dedicated to providing patients and visitors with an exceptional patient experience each and every day,” said Norman G. Roth, Greenwich Hospital president and chief executive officer. “Hospital choice is a critical decision, particularly for women, who make over 80 percent of all healthcare decisions.”

Greenwich Hospital is the only hospital in Fairfield County to receive the award and one of only two hospitals in Connecticut to earn the designation.

The evidence-based designation is the only award that identifies the nation’s best healthcare institutions based on Medicare data weighted according to the preferences of women. For 2017, the most important considerations for women were a patient’s willingness to recommend the healthcare organization; doctor and nurse communications; staff help; pain management; cleanliness; and an explanation of medications.

In addition to the award for Patient Experience, Greenwich Hospital has received 2017 Women’s Choice Awards for Bariatric Surgery, Cancer Care and Obstetrics.

The Patient Experience Award comes as the country marks National Hospital Week May 7 – May 13.
