Greenwich Anesthesiology Associates (GAA) recently celebrated its 50th year of service to the Greenwich Hospital community.
Founded in 1976 by John Clark, MD, Han Chiang, MD, Katherine Shaw, MD, and Cheryl Hawkins, MD, the group began with a shared vision shaped during their time together at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Their leadership brought significant advancements to Greenwich Hospital, including epidural anesthesia for Labor and Delivery and 24/7, 365-days-a-year anesthesia coverage.
GAA now includes 19 board-certified anesthesiologists with fellowship expertise spanning a variety of specialty areas and is supported by 19 certified registered nurse anesthetists.
GAA provides anesthesia services across nearly every clinical area of the hospital, including the Operating Room, Labor and Delivery, Emergency Department, ICU, GI, Pain Management, Radiology, Pulmonary Suite, Cardiology Suite, In Vitro Fertilization and Interventional Psychiatry. The group also serves patients at the Holly Hill Surgery Center and the 500 West Putnam GI Center.
