Patient and Family Advisory Council

The Greenwich Hospital Patient and Family Advisory Council, established in September 2017, encourages patients and families to be active participants in improving the delivery of care.  The council is comprised of patients, family members and hospital staff working together to assure compassionate, high quality health care for patients at Greenwich Hospital.

The Patient and Family Advisory Council involves patients and families in policy and program decision making at Greenwich Hospital. The council, for example:

  • Reviews communication to patients and families, ensuring it builds on patient and family strengths and engages them as partners in healthcare services.
  • Works with hospital leadership in recommending areas for service and quality improvements.
  • Collaborates with experience, quality and safety projects to bring the patient and family perspective to decision making.

Participation in the council is voluntary with the expectation of a two-year time commitment per term. Meetings occur monthly following typical work hours. Advisors are an active voice for improvement, providing information about the needs and concerns of patients.

If you or a family member has been a patient at Greenwich Hospital and wish to become a member of the Patient and Family Advisory Council, please email Patient and Guest Relations for an application or call 203-863-4746 for information.
