Critical Care

Greenwich Hospital's critical care units treat patients who need complex, specialized care and constant monitoring. Patients and their families benefit from an extensive range of skilled specialists led by the unit's medical director, a board-certified critical care specialist (intensivist).

The critical care team includes neurologists, cardiologists, orthopedists and pulmonologists, as well as nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, dietitians, speech, physical and occupational therapists, clergy, social workers and case managers.

Critical Care Units

Greenwich Hospital continuously implement the highest standards of care, including best practices in key areas such as cardiac and stroke care, and infection control.

Support for Patients and Families

Critical care units can be overwhelming and stressful. Our staff is here to listen to the concerns of patients and families and answer questions. Social workers and spiritual counselors are also available.

Personal Guidance

Critical care patients and their families receive individualized attention that includes explanations of the patient’s medical condition and hospital care. Strong and clear communications are emphasized throughout the patient stay. Chaplains are available for counsel, prayer and support for those who request it.

Visiting Hours

MSICU. Visiting hours are flexible to meet the needs of patients and their loved ones. We ask close family and friends to refrain from visiting during shift changes (7 - 8 am and 7 - 8 pm).

Intermediate Care (Telemetry). Visiting hours are noon to 8:30 pm.
