Neurological Rehabilitation

Neurological disorders can affect patients in profound ways. Common problems include vision and cognitive impairment, poor balance, inability to walk, paralysis and loss of functional independence. To help patients regain their abilities, Greenwich Hospital offers rehabilitation services including physical, occupational and speech therapy.

The neurological rehabilitation team works with patients and family members to establish short- and long-term treatment goals for recovery. The goal is to regain the highest level of function and independence, while also improving overall quality of life – physically, emotionally, and socially.

Many neurosurgery patients begin rehabilitation during their hospital stay and continue afterward as outpatients. Physicians prescribe these therapies as necessary.

Rehabilitation services are provided by the Physical Medicine Department at Greenwich Hospital.
