Leaders and physicians with Greenwich Hospital, Yale New Haven Health and Yale School of Medicine recently cut the ribbon on an expanded Urology suite at Holly Hill Lane in Greenwich. Attendees included (l-r): Christopher Bednarz, MD, assistant professor of Urology, Yale School of Medicine (YSM); Kimberly Murphy, APRN; Michael Karellas, MD, chief of Urology, Greenwich Hospital; Isaac Kim, MD, chief of Urology, YNHHS; Devin Shaheen, APRN; and Brian Shinder, MD, assistant professor of Urology, YSM.

Greenwich Hospital recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours to celebrate the expansion of its Urology suite at 55 Holly Hill Lane.

The renovated space enhances access to specialized urologic care and complements the growing number of services at the location, including blood draw, fertility, gynecologic oncology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, audiology, podiatry and surgery.

“Tonight, we recognize more than just an investment in physical renovations; we celebrate expanded access to innovative treatment options and expert specialists,” said Bob Blenderman, PA, president, Greenwich Hospital. “I am excited about the positive impact this expansion and the advancements in patient care will have on our community.”

The expanded Urology suite brings together a full complement of Yale Medicine urologists in a modern, centralized space.

“With our renovated office space, we have a central hub to see all the patients and have all the physicians here at one time,” said Michael Karellas, MD, chief of Urology, Greenwich Hospital, and assistant professor of Urology, Yale School of Medicine (YSM). “Our new physicians are well-trained and have additional skill sets to develop HoLEP, which is an advanced laser procedure to treat prostate enlargement.”

Isaac Kim, MD, PhD, chief of Urology, Yale New Haven Health, and chair of Urology and professor of Urology, Yale School of Medicine, emphasized that the project reflects Yale New Haven Health’s commitment to bringing high-quality specialty care directly to local patients.

“For all of us within Yale New Haven Health System, having a presence in Greenwich has really been a critical priority,” he said. “This facility reinforces the commitment of our leadership to ensure patients in Greenwich receive the same quality of care that Yale Medicine aspires to – without having to travel to New Haven.”
