Laboratory Services

Greenwich Hospital Laboratory is a hospital-based facility staffed 24/7 to support inpatient care and outpatient services. The laboratory provides a wide variety of tests to diagnose and monitor diseases.

Greenwich Hospital Laboratory collects and diagnoses blood and other specimens. The Lab provides services for:

  • Inpatients
  • Patients who have been discharged from the hospital
  • Any individual with a doctor’s lab requisition
  • Physicians

The Lab adheres to the highest standards of quality and patient safety. It is accredited by the College of American Pathologists, the industry’s gold standard, as well as the Connecticut Department of Health and the New York State Department of Health.

Skilled phlebotomists perform routine blood collection procedures and experienced medical technologists analyze specimens for accurate and timely test results.

Specimens are processed as soon as they are received in the laboratory and routine testing begins immediately. Because specimens do not have to travel a great distance, test results are available sooner with less compromise to the integrity of the sample. Physicians are alerted immediately about critical results.

For your convenience

  • Greenwich Hospital has many draw stations located throughout Fairfield County for the collection of blood or other specimens. Some of these locations are open on Saturdays.
  • We accept most major insurance plans.
