Greenwich Hospital Blood Draw Stations are located throughout Fairfield and Westchester counties.

Adults do not need an appointment at any of the Blood Draw Stations. Draw appointments are recommended for children under 9 years old at the 5 Perryridge Road Greenwich Hospital location only. Please call 203-863-3333 11 am – 3 pm to schedule a pediatric appointment. Minors (under age 16) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

You should bring the following information with you:

• The laboratory requisition/physician order form. If your doctor has already faxed the order or placed the order electronically to the location, you do not have to bring the form. *Laboratory tests cannot be performed without a requisition/physician order form.

• Valid Government Issued Photo ID: driver’s license, a state issued photo ID, or a passport.
• A current insurance identification card, if applicable (private insurance and HMO/PPO, Medicare).

Greenwich Hospital Blood Draw Stations honor requisition forms from other laboratories.

No, we do not accept kits that require the patient to obtain phlebotomy services at any of our Blood Draw Station locations for the purpose of shipping the specimen to another laboratory for testing.

Sometimes special preparation is required to improve the accuracy of a test. This may involve fasting (avoiding all, or certain foods) for several hours or overnight. Your physician should provide you with written instructions for preparing for your test. Fasting is generally 8-12 hours, however, check with your doctor about requirements. Follow these instructions exactly. Glucose tolerance tests may take up to 4 hours and you will be asked to stay within the Blood Draw Station for the duration of the test. Continue taking all medication as prescribed and drink plenty of water.

Specimens can be dropped off at any Blood Draw Station locations. Along with the specimen, please bring:

• The laboratory requisition/physician order form. If your doctor has already faxed the order or placed the order electronically to the location, you do not have to bring the form. *Laboratory tests cannot be performed without a requisition/physician order form.
• Valid government issued photo ID: driver’s license, a state issued photo ID, or a passport.
• A current insurance identification card (private insurance, HMO/PPO, Medicare, self-pay if applicable).

No. Ticks should be submitted by residents to their municipal health departments.

The physician who ordered the test or a member of the physician’s office will receive your test results.

Test results may be available within a few hours to several days based on test complexity. Most of the laboratory testing is done on the premises and the expected turnaround time for routine tests is generally 24 hours.
