Greenwich Hospital receives three million dollars in support of Pediatric Services

Thursday, December 5, 2019

Greenwich, CT (December 5, 2019) – Greenwich Hospital Foundation announced today that an anonymous donor gave $3 million to the hospital in support of the hospital’s Pediatrics Department. The gift will provide funding to establish a new Pediatric Ambulatory Care Center as well as name the Pediatric Emergency Waiting Room. Norman Roth, president & CEO, Greenwich Hospital said, “We are very grateful to the donor for embracing our vision of expanded pediatric care for our community through their philanthropic investment in Greenwich Hospital.”

Today’s gift will allow for the creation of a child-friendly themed pediatric ambulatory surgery suite and accommodate the ease of patient transfers between it and the Center for Pediatric Care.

Further advancing pediatric care at Greenwich Hospital, the gift will name the Pediatric Emergency Waiting Room, complementing the hospital’s Pediatric emergency services, which opened in 2018. This service offers families emergency pediatric care from specially trained, board certified, Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital pediatric emergency physicians.

Since 1903 Greenwich Hospital has been a trusted provider of health care for the region. This commitment continues in partnership with Yale New Haven Health and Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital as the hospital embarks on an ambitious clinical growth plan in the following areas: Pediatrics, Oncology, Neuroscience and Heart & Vascular Services. Pediatric specialty and sub-specialty Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital physicians now offer their services within a newly built medical office located at 500 West Putnam Avenue in Greenwich, CT.

Noël Appel, SVP and chief development officer, invites others to learn more about Greenwich Hospital’s clinical growth plan and giving opportunities. “Our mission is to provide exceptional health care and grow our clinical programs,” said Appel. “A multitude of investment opportunities exist to partner with Greenwich Hospital for the future.” If you wish to learn more about the various funding opportunities in pediatrics and our other growth areas, please contact Noël at 203-863-3861 or [email protected].
