The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Ambulatory Surgical Center (HASC) delivers high quality care for a wide range of ambulatory procedures. Same day procedures include cataract surgery, gynecological, plastic, ear/nose/throat, pediatric, orthopedic and arthroscopic surgeries. All surgeries are performed with full anesthesia coverage.

Same Day Surgical Services:

State-of-the-Art Technologies:

  • Femtosecond laser technology provides advanced 3D imaging, precise treatment and a gentle approach to cataract surgery.
  • Optiwave Refractive Analysis (ORA), used in cataract surgery, measures the eye within seconds to ensure accurate and safe surgery.
  • To diagnose prostate cancer, surgeons use the Artemis technology that combines high-resolution ultrasound with 3D MRI imaging. This advanced imaging allows the urologic surgeon to perform a more precise biopsy.
  • SpaceOAR® treatment helps to minimize the side effects of prostate cancer radiation treatment.

Special Modes of Transportation for Those in Need

TAG (Transportation Association of Greenwich) is a private not-for-profit specialized transportation service for frail elderly and disabled people of all ages. They offer Dial-A-Ride and Easy Access transportation:

  • Dial-A-Ride is a door to door transportation service for Greenwich residents who are over 60 or disabled. Reservations must be made at least one day in advance.

The Easy Access program provides door-to-door van service to anyone who is disabled and is unable to use the public bus service. Certification is required demonstrating ADA disabilities status. There is a nominal charge for Easy Access TAG service.
